The Shell V-Power Racing Team has today unveiled its striking 2025 Indigenous livery ahead of this weekend’s Darwin Triple Crown.
Artist Kurun Warun’s stunning artwork will feature on both Shell V-Power Mustangs this weekend as part of the Repco Supercars Championship Indigenous Round.
Kurun Warun’s piece draws inspiration from the natural elements across the lands and tells a powerful story of intergenerational teaching and sharing of culture.
Central to the artwork is a traditional kangaroo hunting dance, a way of passing skills from Elders to younger generations. The mother figure is seen teaching, while behind her, Kurun’s wife and three children observe. Opposite, older community members also watch on, highlighting the collective responsibility of raising and guiding the next generation.
Proudly descended from Truganini, Queen of Tasmania, and the Framlingham Mission community, Kurun Warun’s art has garnered international recognition, collected by figures such as Oprah and the Prince of Saudi Arabia. Beyond painting, he is also a talented didgeridoo player and traditional dancer who has performed across the globe.
The renowned Indigenous artist worked closely with the team over recent months to integrate the artwork into the team’s existing fan-favourite livery.
Kurun Warun said he was proud to be part of the Shell V-Power Racing Team.
“It's awesome - it's the first time I've ever had a painting on race cars and it’s a thrill just to be part of it,” he said.
“It’s a proud moment for me and my family – my kids and friends. We're just hoping that the team win now.”
Shell V-Power Racing Team CEO David Noble thanked Kurun Warun for sharing his artwork with the team and being part of the Darwin event.
“Kurun Warun’s artwork is particularly striking and looks amazing when presented on our
Shell V-Power Mustangs,” Noble said.
“We are proud to be able to showcase his artwork on the cars as well as through the uniforms our drivers and team will wear during the event. We’re also excited to say the pit walling in our garage will strongly feature Kurun Warun’s work so it will be highly visible throughout the event.”
Kurun Warun and members of his family will also be at the Darwin Triple Crown with the team. The Shell V-Power Racing Team’s social channels will also feature further insights into the artwork across the weekend.
The 2025 Shell V-Power Racing Team’s Indigenous livery will be showcased on both cars for this weekend’s Darwin Triple Crown and again at the following round, the Townsville 500.
